The Dustless Tile Removal Process

How It Works

All The Details. None of The Dust.

  1. On the day we remove your floor, our professional team will arrive between 8:30 and 9 a.m. First, we’ll do a walk-through of your space to finalize details, such as what will be removed and what will stay. After that, we’ll start the floor removal process.
  2. We thoroughly cover all areas that need it with plastic sheeting. We capture over 99.5% of the dust that escapes during tile removal, so this is just to cover certain areas (countertops, shelves and cabinets) from small chips of tile that break loose.
  3. We bring in our high-end industrial vacuums and the chisels and attachments best suited for your floor surface.
  4. We set up high powered filters that literally scrub the air as we work. So in addition to those high-powered vacuums securely pulling out the dust, we have additional safeguards in these strong air scrubbers that further filter the air in the spaces.

Then we get down to the dirty work, without making your home dirty.

  5. Our crew quickly removes all traces of tile and flooring from your rooms, securely trapping all dust in our large vacuums while hauling out the large chunks of tile or wood.

This is done intelligently and carefully by taking precautions to mitigate all dust, including vacuum attachments as all pieces are moved, gathered and taken out. This captures any particles or dust that inevitably “shake loose” from the tiles as they are picked up.

Simply put, there isn’t an aspect of floor removal that we haven’t considered. We’ve put multiple safeguards and mechanisms into place to ensure that your home remains as dust free as is possible.

  6. Upon completion we grind down any mortar, thinset or glue that was used to adhere your old floor. We take it down to a flat and smooth surface.

Just like with our demolition process, it’s done using high-powered vacuums to capture the adhesive as soon as it is broken down. We literally go over every nook and cranny, getting it down to a smooth concrete foundation. It’s now ready for your installation, This can cut the prep work down greatly and in some cases completely for your new floor—whether it’s new tile, hardwood, laminate, etc. And for an extra charge, we can bring the slab up to a stain grade level for staining and sealing.

  7. Before leaving, we thoroughly vacuum the entire area where we’ve worked, pulling up any final pieces of small debris and particles that remain. Finally, we wipe down all surfaces.

Quite often, our customers tell us they find the rooms where we worked even cleaner than before we arrived!

That’s our goal—to leave your home and living areas in pristine condition, ready for the next exciting stage of your home improvement project.
